StatCounter Description
StatCounter is a web tracking service that allows you to get real time statistics of your web visitors across multiple websites. The service is available for free but is limited to only 500 log-sizes and 250,000 pageloads (explained later). StatCounter offers multiple plans for webmaster that get more pageloads than the average site.
StatCounter Detailed Overview
StatCounter has offered their tool for free for many years but in my opinion, the tool has been overlooked by many people. They’ve made many improvements and the tool is incredibly easy to use. Right from the get-go, you can manage multiple sites from one account by creating projects.
Like a regular web statistic tool, you’ll be able to see a data of your unique visitors, returning visitors, page loads, and first time visitors. You can see the data presented daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly and also choose specific date ranges.
If you’ve ever wondered what your visitors are doing on your site, you can look at what pages they entered from, where they exited, individual visitor paths, and the most popular pages. All this information can be used to improve your site. For example, if you find that your visitors are exiting at a certain page, you can try to get them to opt-in on that page so you can contact them later.
While your page statistics help you make the necessary adjustments to your site, it doesn’t tell the complete picture. That’s why Statcounter also shows you the visit length and returning visits of your site. This is a good indicator of whether your site is providing value to your visitors. The only thing I wasn’t happy about was that this can only be measured for the whole site, not individual pages.
StatCounter is also a great way to analyze your SEO campaigns as well. You can view what search engines your visitors are coming from and a percentage breakdown from each engine. This information will reveal which keywords you should be focusing on. Furthermore, the tool shows the country, state, city, and a Google map of your visitors. This can help if you’re running international campaigns.
What’s more, you can see the usability information like the resolution stats, whether javascript is enabled, and the browser being used in order to present your website. With this data, you can run through your site with different resolutions, with javascript on/off, and different browsers to make sure your site is designed to accommodate all your visitors.
My favorite part of Statcounter is the ability to individually look at each unique visitors’s data. This data is put into what’s called logs. By studying the logs, you can get a good idea of what visitors are doing and get an overall consensus of your visitor statistics and actions.

StatCounter Reputation
Overall, Statcounter is a great tool and offers everything you need to make the necessary changes to your site. The statistics are accurate and the tool gives you the real time visitor info as they state on their site. There are so many features like keyword analysis, exit pages, referral information, visitor paths, visit length and more that help it stand out from other free stat tools in the market.
I do wish there was a feature that allowed you to measure goals. For example: If you could set up a link and measure conversions, then you would be able to see how your pages are doing in terms of profitability. You’d get to see which pages are leading to the sale. This would really be an intuitive way to monetize your content and know exactly where to focus your SEO efforts. Instead, you will have to use separate tools to measure conversions/cost per visitor/sale referral pages.
Statcounter is free for 250,000 pageloads per month and a log size of 500. The log size shows you all the specific details about each individual visitor. If you need more pageloads and a bigger log-size to analyze info, there are plans available at $9, $19, and $29 a month. All in all, this is a great tool especially if you’re doing SEO or have a site built to monetize content. Statcounter has received positive feedback from users, and I give it a strong recommendation.

It's the best traffic tracking service I have been using StatCounter for my blogs and it does it's job really well. It updates data very often and has many features like which site my visitors came from, which page they left to, what country they're from and how long they visited. It's great for beginner and intermediate bloggers and website owners but advanced people should get some paid service. I love that it's free and has many features. I recommend it to everybody.

Well, I liked it Very easy to use I must say. Easy to get a handle on and is definitely something I would recommend. The only potential issues I see is if you're unwilling to pay. If you have a site with exceedingly high traffic, it is probably best you find another tool. To me, that is the only real downside to this tool. And simply because I'm cheap. Give it a try. If you like it and have the traffic to make use of the upgraded account, you're probably making enough money to not regret it.

Love This Tool This is my favorite tool for tracking visitors to my website. I like how it is so simple to use, yet at the same time it is extremely powerful and lets you dig very deeply into your visitor analytics. I use the keyword analysis stat the most and this helps me to see new keywords that people are using to find my site.

Not big enough Super easy to use but it's simply not big enough. I am afraid to upgrade here because it says if I do, I can look as far back as the last 2000 visitors. The page that I use it for gets about 220 hits per day. Upgrading would obviously be a waste of money for me as I can't even see 2 weeks back with the upgrade. Other than this huge problem I love this system, as it even has a visitors map where you can see where in the world people live that are hitting your site. This counter is the best out there but needs to be about 5 times bigger. I recommend this to everyone that has their own site.

Fantastic Free Tool that lets you "spy" on your visitors I don't know what I'd do without StatCounter. I've been using it for a few years now and have it installed on all my websites and blogs. It provides up to date and very accurate tracking of your visitors. It is quick and easy to install and there is a wealth of information including the keywords that visitors used to find your website, the country and city they came from, the site that referred them, the length of time they stayed on your website, which pages they visited and more. The log file has increased recently to 500 for free members, but you can add as many sites as you like and the upgrade fee is reasonable if you need a bigger log file.

Good for tracking! It is a very nice tool for tracking everyone who visits your website. I had made a new website yet was worried no one was visiting. I advertised a bit and when I learned of this program I learned I had been getting plenty of visitors daily. The tool is easy to use and for someone that needs to find out if their site is getting as popular as they want, this is a great tool to use.

Gives detailed and current minute to minute stats on visitors Compared to other sites that keep track of visitors, this site is on the top of my list. I love that you can see the different ip addresses, times, and frequency of visits. It also keeps track of genuine browser visits, so I can see how well traffic to my site is doing.

Good but not great ! This was the first website visitor counter I came across. It has all the features the user wants like visitor geographical location and referral url. These features helped me a lot to change my strategy of website promotion to reach maximum potential. The url referral feature is one of my favorite features where you can even see the keywords which got you visitors. It is really a good one but there are some features I miss, like bounce rate. Also I find flaw in it's presentation of stats in which Google analytics excels. All in all it is a good one but not the best one.

Great Tool I have tried many different counters but this one is definitely the best. It is easy to use and a great way to keep track of site visitors. I like the way you can see things by graphs and also check unique and returning visitors as well. It is definitely worth using this one to keep an eye on your visitors to your Blog or Website.

Stat Counter is WORTH IT! I used this counter on one of my old domains to keep track of stats. It never failed me. It was easy to read and understand how my stats were kept. I would recommend this counter to anyone who wants to keep track of their site stats. The best part, it's FREE. Give it a try. I am sure not everyone will be satisfied with it, but I recommend it. You won't be disappointed! At least I wasn't.

Excellent Service I joined this site a year ago and used it to track my websites traffic. I was amazed at the power of this service, and it made it easier to see where my traffic was coming from, and this gave me the ability to target the ads on my site to that certain group. For such a simple system, it allowed me to greatly improve the profits I was making from my site. I would recommend this to any website owner as it is top of it's league.

Much better than Google Analytics I use this excellent analytic tool over Google's because it gives up to the minute stats and the interface is so user friendly. Best thing about it is the option to remove your IP address from the statistics. I constantly click my blog and my statistics with Google were skewed. I definitely recommend this service as a hit counter. No problems with this service at all, fast set up through blogger, easy to use interface with up to the minute statistics.

Not as good as Google Analytics I used this program when I first started blogging and, at first, I loved it. But it really didn't seem that accurate when compared with other stats programs I was using. Also it was more difficult to see where the traffic was coming from. Google Analytics is free, more accurate, and unlimited. I definitely wouldn't go back to StatCounter.

Free is Good! The best part about StatCounter is that it is free! I added it to my site and it provides me some very useful information. It gives me insight into not only how many people are coming to my site but lets me know the words that brought them there... I have been using it for a few months and often wonder how I lived without it!

Great FREE traffic tracker! I love StatCounter and use it for all my sites and blogs. I only use the free account, but you get everything you need. Graphs, charts, everything. It's also very easy to implement (just copy the code), customizable and easy to access. I would recommend this to everyone that needs a stats counter, but don't want to invest in a more expensive option.
