Google Analytics Description
Google Analytics is considered by many to be the foremost web analytics software program available today. Developed by the world's largest search engine, Google, the program is designed to integrate seamlessly with other Google applications such as Google Adwords and Google Website Optimizer. The program is used by both paid and natural search engine marketers to better understand visitors to their websites.
Google Analytics Detailed Overview
There is little question about the overwhelming presence of Google on the Internet today. What was a doctoral thesis 15 years ago has today become the Internet's dominant force. Google's primary mission is to give its users a high quality search experience that delivers relevant results. As such, they demand a great deal from advertisers and also from those seeking to gain a foothold in natural search engine rankings. That being said, Google has also invested a tremendous amount of money into developing high quality tools that can be used for free, and one of the best of them is Google Analytics.
What is Google Analytics?
Google Analytics is a web-based application that gives website owners and advertisers the ability to understand a variety of information about the visitors to their website. From Google's perspective, providing both website owners and advertisers with the ability to give visitors what they want will only serve to enhance the user's experience and long run help Google as well.
How does Google Analytics work?
Google Analytics has been designed with simplicity and ease-of-use in mind. Anyone that has a webpage can use Google Analytics and begin to track and better understand the behavior of their visitors. Installing Google Analytics is as simple as placing a bit of code on any webpage on which tracking is desired. After the code has been placed and visitors began arriving to the website, Google Analytics will begin to gather up a wide array of data about the users which then can be analyzed later in the reporting module.
Unlike other web analytics applications, Google Analytics does not provide real-time tracking but rather works on a 3-hour delay. However, since Google does not charge for their application, many website owners are more than happy to use the program anyway especially when it provides information like the following:
  • Traffic sources used to locate the website (including inbound links from other websites or from paid traffic sources)
  • Keyword data being used by visitors to arrive at the website
  • Conversion goal tracking that can be integrated with Google Adwords (if required)
  • Geo-specific visitor data, browser specific visitor data and other miscellaneous information such as how long the user remains on the website
If you intend to do any affiliate marketing at a serious level, then using some type of web analytics program is essential. If you're on a tight budget and cannot afford some of the bells and whistles that come with paid applications, then at the very least consider using Google Analytics to help you better understand your visitors. This will enable you to develop content that will keep them on your website and increase conversions.

Google Analytics Reputation
Google, Inc. is the world's largest search engine platform. Originally conceived as a doctoral thesis in the mid-1990s, Google has become the dominant leader in the search engine space and controls approximately 65% of daily search volume on the Internet. Google Analytics was developed to help webmasters and advertisers better understand the needs of their visitors and enhance user experience.

Really useful to see how your own website is doing

I mainly use Google Analytics daily to see how much traffic flow I'm getting for a few of my personal websites. Obviously, it shows a visual graph of how many people visited my website per period right in-browser -- less than a hassle to use.

Most important of all, Google Analytics is a useful online service if you want to know exactly what's going on with the websites you're trying to host or promote.

Still using google analytics

I had been using google analytics for sometime and by some time I mean over a 3 year period. It had proved to be consistently good with the analytics . I would say that it is very efficient , very user friendly , very easy to use . Though there could be a little bit more updates in the google analytic thing . But on the whole it is a good one and I definitely recommend it to others.

Reasons I Like Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a pretty good application for blogspot bloggers and almost for everyone who owns a website or a blog. Cool statistics can be seen, this contains keyword research, visitors stats, audience locations and many more. Simply great application. I suggest that all of us should use this as it has so many features and the best part is that it comes free.

Used Google Analytics for a while now

I have been using Google Analytics for over 3 years and it has helped me to evolve my websites and enhance the visitors experience greatly. I like how I can view where my visitors are originating from, their demographics such as age, gender and what pages interest them the most. It means I can concentrate on what works while filtering out what doesn't. Linking the system through my WordPress sites, Webmaster tools and Adsense account means I can have a cohesive environment which maximizes my workload. It is also particular useful for finding out what sources are bringing my traffic and what keywords are being used.

I have been using it, it's really an awesome tool

I have a cosmetic clinic and I have been using google analytics in order to get to know more about people who visit my website, and google analytics has helped me a lot with that, proving important information as gender, age, location, interests on other points of interests of theses people, so I can focus where I have to improve on my services, promoting some new promotions to attract these clients to come to us.

It's a really awesome tools!

Google Analytics

Google Analytics happens to be the best recommended when it come to detecting a website traffic source, keywords and unique number of visitors.

This is the best tool of it's kind. Just follow the step by step procedures on how to implement it and you are good to go.

It has been the king all the way on my blog.

Very good website analytics tool

I've used Google Analytics on a couple of websites I manage, and they do a pretty good job giving you insight as to who your visitors are. You are given the ability to sort visitors by country, by operating system, ...

The data was also correct as far as I could determine. "Google" is somewhat a synonym for quality these days.

No complaints another flawless from Google

Google Analytics has been constantly over the years giving me accurate data about the visitors on my site.

Just like any other Google product. This site is clean, clutter-free and simple to use.

I'd love if it offered real time analytics.

Analytics data helps you a lot in getting a good deal if you're a website flipper like me.

Good to have this service

I love Google Analytics for website analytics. It gives me high quality accurate feed of my site visitors.

It has many features and the site looks clean and simple, just what one would expect from Google.

Unfortunately, there is a three-hour delay for the feed which I don't like. Other website analytics sites update in real time which I like more.

I like how it's free and everything but they should start offering real time analytics feed.

Have to love Google

I, by nature, am a person who wants to see what is going on either upfront or behind the scenes. This is perfect for me.

It gives me real time feed back so I can do a proper trend analysis. What is working? What isn't? This helps me determine what I need to tweak and what is working currently.

It does have some things that need to layout better but that could be matter of personal preference.

You get more with paid services but you should you are paying for it. This is completely free so you don't get all of the features as other paid sites.

I would recommend this to anyone who is interested in further information about their business sites or blogs.

Great, and even better, it's free

First off, the word “Google” catches my attention. I tried it out and it’s being going great so far. Installation on my blog was very simple and easy. It lets me keep track of all the views I’m getting to my blog, and lets me know where the sources are coming from. That way I know what I should work on in which blogs to get more traffic to them. The tutorials are very helpful too.

What’s better is that it’s free!

Definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants to keep track of visitors going onto your site or blog. Add webmaster and you’re set!

Interesting Data and it is free

The charts of each site are self explanatory. I use it for a web site and blogs. The information is invaluable. All you have to do is install a little java code on your site and you are good to go. I like tracking where the hits are coming from and the keywords that actually work.

It's awesome and free

I have been using Google Analytics for my blogs and find it very useful. Being another google product is a plus point. This provides demographics and various other details to bloggers and site owners. Signing up and installing this on your blog is also very, very easy and integrates very well with blogger blogs.

The new dashboard makes this even more cool.

Good analytics

Look for a free offering it's quite solid. I have used HitsLink in the past and think they do some things better but you pay for the privilege. I like how you can schedule reports and look at live stats but would be nice if the live stats allowed you to drill down a little more as HitsLink does everything live and GA can be quite delayed.

An Interesting Way to Track Views

Google Analytics is a great way to track your views. It's quite detailed. It provides you with things like a pie chart to represent the viewers of the site you use Analytics for. This service is awesome-when it works. I have used it a few times where it actually has not worked at all. When it does work, you get the most information about the viewers of the site as you could imagine. From what web browser their using, to what operating system their using. It helps you make changes to your site to cater to the majority of your viewers. I would say that the layout is something to get used to.

It appears that you can do even more with Analytics than just track views, like advertise your site. But, that's not the sole focus of the application, and I can't say I have any personal reason to use any of the extra stuff.

I think it's overall awesome, but it could use some touch-ups.

Google is Great

I have been using Google Analytics for about 3 weeks now. Sometimes I use traffic exchanges to drive traffic to me website. You never know if the exchanges are really sending you the referrals, but with Google Analytics, it shows how many hits my site is receiving, where the referral came from, how many pages were viewed, and how long the visit lasted. It has been helpful to me in determining what Keywords trigger traffic to my site and what the best traffic sources are. It even tracks my Google Adsense earnings. This is an awesome service offered by Google.

Very useful tool

I've been using this product for all of my wordpress blogs for almost a year now, and it gives great detail about the visitors that come to my site and how they got there - which is the important part for me. I've used the keyword info that I get from the analytics reports to get even more traffic (and more money) to my sites. The cost is free, but I'd definitely be willing to pay for it.

In regards to the above comment that it is not real time, it is slightly delayed like AdSense, but you do not have to wait til tomorrow to see what happened today.

One of the best website Tracker.

If you combine Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools, you will get a great understanding of the people who visit your site and learn new ways to optimize your site. My favorite feature of Analytics is their comprehensive detail they provide you for just placing a little code on your site. You can check out your how much you earned on Adsense, where your visitors come from, how long they stay, and just about any detail you want FOR FREE! I am sure there are few sites that can match Google's quality freebies, like this.

Great SEO tool but it's lack of real time statistic is a shame

Google Analytics is a great tool for all your search engine optimization marketing. However I have one problem with Google Analytics - it's lack of real time statistics. There are other free tools that can report these statistics in real time, so why should Google struggle with that...

Google Analytics is great!

I love their analytics system. Pretty easy to learn with the tutorials. At first, it was kind of confusing, but it's so customizable, that once you get the hang of it, it's really easy to use. You can set everything up just the way you like it.

I would highly recommend Google's Analytics to anyone who wants accurate stats of their site.

Google at it's best

I have used Google Analytics for my website to track users, and it does a great job. It shows you various info about people who have visited your site. It was excellent because I wanted to see who was visiting my site, and most of all... it's free! Google has done an excellent job at this. Even though the tutorial was a little confusing to me at first, I finally understood how to get things started. This is was better than paying money for another website tracker.

I use this

I use analytics on my mini sites and blogs, and it's great for those things, but if you have a larger site that requires that you know what kind of traffic you are getting, for example like bots and seeing more specifics on your traffics behavior, then getting a better paid service is a must.

Analytics is great for small sites, but no good for large ones. It's still another great service from Google.

A great Tool

This tool is must for those who has a site or a blog. I use it in my blog, and I recommend it to all others. This one just needs you to add an HTML code in your blog or site, and the job is done. Now, you can track every single detail about visits made in your site. I just love this, as this has been really a great tool for my blog to track my blog visitors.

Analytics isn't the best

But it is free, and I love a free service like this, although I feel Google could have just included this in the webmaster tools instead of making it separate.

I do like being shown where my traffic is coming from, but you don't get a lot of specifics on it, like showing you if bots are all that are hitting your site. All in all, great service from Google. They could still make it better, even if for a tiny fee.

Can't complain

OK, so you don't get second by second updates, but for a free website analyzer tool, you can't complain! There are companies offering software that do offer realtime updates, but they usually ask for some kind of fee for using their service, so if you're just looking for a basic and general site traffic monitor at low cost or for free, I can definitely recommend Google Analytics. I use it with my work website, as well as my own 2 personal sites, and it does exactly the job I want, which is just to get a general idea of the popularity of my content.

Very Helpful Tool

I only use Google Analytics on one of my sites so far. I find it very helpful. I know exactly where my traffic is coming from. This helps me figure out which site is the most helpful in getting traffic to my website. For example, I have found my blog sends more visitors to my website. Now I know I can spend more time on my blog advertising my site.

Easy, and very powerful!

Some of the graphs this generates for me a superb, even stuff like the map proves very useful to me. I have not tried it with Adsense, but I am using it with Google sites, and it's so easy! You just need to copy 1 small reference number, and it sets it all up for you. I haven't tried it with other (non-Google) websites, but it looks as though all you need to do is copy a small bit of code, and the rest is done for you! Forget silly little download counters, this is the way forward.

Nice summary report

Google analytics provides an overall summary of how your website is doing. I've used it before and it helps you fill in the small bits of detail of where are your visitors coming from. It helps analyze what's going on when your visitors visit your website. It collects data and puts it into a report summary. Best of all it's free so why not take a stab at it. But the only thing is that you need to be invited to try this service. Though it doesn't provide you with the detail summary of what your consumers are thinking, you can get a gist of where they are hinting at, the overall image.

Brilliant and so useful!

Google Analytics helps me monitor traffic to my website. Not only that but it displays the amount of income I receive from AdSense each day. These two Google products work simultaneously with each other, making it incredibly easy to know my profit forecast.

Thanks to GA I have been able to see my traffic increase each day.

It's just a shame there is a 24 hour delay between each update.

Works great with Wordpress

I struggled with this at first. But there's a plugin for Wordpress that I found out about recently. It works great. It's not really easy to use until you figure it out. It can be done in an afternoon.

Overall, this tool is absolutely necessary for internet marketers, designers, developers, etc.

Google does a great job as always. And the best thing is that it's free.

If you're intimidated about using it because it's new to you... Remember, we all started exactly where you are.

I don't like it

I don't like Google Analytics for the simple reason that you won't get the data you need in real time. It's like reading today the news from yesterday's newspaper. You cannot properly conduct a business by not knowing what happens NOW with your website. There are other similar services, free too, but providing real time data.

It cost nothing to use, it can be a little confusing for the newbie, but a great free tool for analysis website traffic and behaviour over multiple sites or pages, a big thumbs up from me.

The hard part is when you try to use it with blogging services, you need to read the FAQ of the blogging services to work out how to get it to work with this programs.

Very Useful Tool

I currently use Google Analytics to manage two of my websites. I love it. The information is up to date and very useful. It lets me know where most of my sites' traffic is coming from which helps me to adjust my advertising efforts. I love knowing that more people are viewing my site in Pittsburgh which means I need to up my advertising in Philadelphia or Delaware.

Great tool!

This a must tool for web marketers, designers, developers and anybody involved in the online/internet business. It might take few hours to figure out the basics, then you can take advantage of the tutorials and help files to make sure your site meets the requirements to be part of the top rank results. Google has done such a great job developing awesome free tools. Another must have tool for marketers. You really need to learn how to interpret you site's stats and make sure you meet the needs of your users. This service will walk you through this process.

It seems good

I just started using it. While it is not the most sophisticated system, it is free and informational enough to be useful in assisting a user in determining the value of that user's site. Anything that is free that analyzes traffic for a user is significant to have especially since there are not a lot of good things that are both user friendly and free. Plus, it takes only minutes to set up.
